Currencies

• EUR/USD Euro softer on failure of agreement between Merkel and Sarkozy on second Greek bailout. Markets awaiting a lower European Trade Balance which may put further pressure on the Euro.


• USD/JPY Fell on weaker USD after disappointing US financial data. Higher unemployment claims put pressure on the greenback.


• GBP/USD Continued its downfall, hitting a 1 month low at 1.6076. Analysts still see more room for further downside if 1.6075 support is broken

Commodities

• Gold traded the range, failing to break below 1507.
• Oil WTI continued to fall going below 95 on global worries on European and US economies.
• Brent fell as well after July 2011 contract expired. Brent fell over 10 dollars after expiry, narrowing the spread between BRENT and Crude.

Equities

• U.S. stocks closed mixed. DOW was up 0.54% while Nasdaq closed down 0.29%


• European stocks were trading lower today, on the back of the Greek crises.


• Asian stocks closed down with Nikkei down -0.64%, Hang Seng down 0.82%
